AI Author isn't autocomplete. It's a diff.

Most AI writing tools finish your sentence in grey. Useless for the paragraph you're actually trying to write. AI Author works by diff instead, and the difference is the point.

Most AI writing tools are autocomplete. You type, the model finishes your sentence in grey, you press tab to accept. Fine for one-liners. Useless for the paragraph you’re actually trying to write.

AI Author works differently. You highlight a passage, pick a verb (tighten, lengthen, soften, make it punchier), and the suggestion arrives as a diff. Red lines for what’s removed, green for what’s added, sitting beside your original. You read both. You accept, discard, or rewrite the suggestion the way you’d handle a colleague’s track changes.

The diff is the point. It keeps the model on your terms. You see exactly what it wants to change, and you decide whether to take the trade. Autocomplete makes you the editor of an unfinished thought. AI Author keeps you the writer, with the model as a second opinion you can ignore.

It’s slower per word. It’s also why the words that survive feel like yours.
