Billing

Where plan changes, payment methods, and invoices live: the in-app Billing page handles upgrades, and the secure billing portal handles cards, invoices, and cancellation.

The Billing page is the in-app surface for your plan. Upgrades start there, and everything payment-related — cards, invoices, cancellation — happens in the secure billing portal run by our payment provider (LemonSqueezy).

Billing

Plan, payment method, and invoices.

Current plan: Free · upgrade to Pro or Teams, or manage your subscription.

Where it lives

What’s there

Failed payments

If a charge fails (expired card, etc.), the payment provider retries automatically and emails you at each step. If all retries fail, the subscription expires and the account reverts to Free — your documents are untouched, but you’re back under Free limits for new ones.

To rescue a failed-payment expiry, update the payment method in the billing portal, or re-subscribe from the Billing page.

Tax + VAT

LemonSqueezy is the merchant of record: tax is calculated and added at checkout based on your billing address. For businesses, a VAT/GST registration number can be entered at checkout to remove the tax (where local law allows).

Invoicing

Each charge generates an invoice. Open Billing → Manage subscription and download invoices from the portal.

Cancellation

PlanHow to cancel
Pro (individual)Billing → Manage subscription → Cancel
Teams (org owner)Billing → Manage subscription → Cancel
FreeNo cancellation needed — you’re not being charged

Cancellation prevents the next renewal. Access continues until the end of the current paid term. No refunds for partial periods.

Account deletion (vs. cancellation)

Cancelling your subscription doesn’t delete your account or your data. To fully delete your account:

  1. Cancel any active subscription
  2. Delete your account from Settings → Danger zone (30-day grace period, then permanent)

Account deletion is irreversible once the grace period ends and removes all your documents, comments, history, and shares.
