Pricing
What each plan costs, monthly vs annual cadence, what's included at each tier. For the full feature breakdown see /docs/plans.
This page is the pricing-focused view; Plans is the feature-focused view. Both are also surfaced at sweetdocs.app/pricing for prospective customers.
The numbers
| Plan | Price | Billed | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Forever | 25-document cap, smaller quotas |
| Pro | $3 / month or $30 / year (save $6) | Per user | None — no seat math, no commitment |
| Teams | $3 / seat / month | Per seat, monthly | Three-seat minimum |
Why this pricing
A quick comparison:
- Pro at $3/month is less than a third of Microsoft 365 Personal ($9.99/month) and a quarter of Google Workspace Business Starter ($12/user/month)
- Teams at $3/seat/month is less than Microsoft 365 Business Basic ($6/seat) and Google Workspace Business Starter ($7/seat)
We picked these numbers because sweetdocs is one application — an editor with AI — rather than a suite. We don’t bundle email, video, or spreadsheets; the price reflects that focus.
Annual billing
Pro can be billed annually at $30 / year, which is $6 cheaper than 12 months at the monthly rate. Teams is monthly-only in v1 (per-seat-per-month is the only cadence; annual seat math is on the roadmap).
Billing cadence
| Plan | When you’re charged |
|---|---|
| Free | Never |
| Pro monthly | Each month on the calendar day you upgraded (e.g., upgraded on the 14th → charged every 14th) |
| Pro annual | Once a year on the upgrade anniversary |
| Teams | Each month on the org’s billing day, charged per current seat count |
Seat counts on Teams are dynamic — adding a seat mid-cycle prorates the difference into the next bill; removing a seat reverts to the new count next billing cycle.
What happens on plan change
| Direction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Free → Pro | Quotas raise immediately. Existing documents stay. The 25-doc cap is lifted. |
| Pro → Teams | Pro features stay per user; an org is created and the user becomes its Owner. Org features (libraries, audit, domain capture) become available. |
| Pro → Free (downgrade) | Pro features hard-lock immediately. If you’re over a quota cap, the over-cap resource goes read-only until you’re back under (e.g., delete docs to get under 25). |
| Teams → Pro (downgrade) | Org features remove. Personal library content stays with the user; org library content is preserved for 30 days for re-upgrade, then archived per the data retention policy. |
| Annual mid-term cancellation | Service continues until end of the paid term. No refunds for partial years. |
Currency and regional pricing
Default currency is USD. Local currency display is on the roadmap. Tax (VAT / GST / sales tax) is added at checkout based on your billing address.
What’s not paid
- Public link viewers never pay or sign up. They view shared docs anonymously.
- People you invite can join sweetdocs free without your plan covering them; they only need a paid plan to do things that require a paid plan (write to your invites, host an org, etc.).
- The REST API is available on Pro and Teams; the call count is per-account / per-org, not per-document.
Refunds + cancellation
Cancel anytime from the Billing section. Cancellation prevents the next renewal — your access continues until the end of the current paid term. Refunds aren’t issued for partial periods; the unused time stays active until expiry.
For team accounts, the Owner is the only one who can cancel the subscription. Admins and Members cannot.
Where to upgrade
From inside the app: Profile menu → Billing, or the bottom-of-sidebar “Upgrade” link if you’re on Free.
From the marketing site: the sweetdocs.app/pricing page has the same three CTAs.
