Quotas in practice
| What | Free | Pro | Teams |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total documents | 25 | Unlimited | Unlimited |

| PDF imports per month | 3 | 50 | 50 per seat |
| RTF imports per month | Same AI quota | Same AI quota | Same AI quota |
| Image uploads per month | 200 | 2,000 | 2,000 per seat |
| Image storage cap | 250 MB | 5 GB | 25 GB per seat |
| Comments per doc | No fixed cap | No fixed cap | No fixed cap |
| Real-time collaborators per doc | Practical: tens | Practical: tens | Practical: tens |
| API calls per month | Not available | 10,000 | 100,000 |
PDF and RTF imports both use the AI conversion pipeline (LlamaParse and Gemini respectively), so they share quota with AI Author chats.
AI features also carry a fair-use monthly token budget (Free 250K · Pro 3M · Teams 6M per seat) and a burst limit of 10 AI requests per minute. Normal writing and editing never gets near either — they exist so automated abuse can’t degrade the service for everyone else. AI Author is scoped to writing and editing the open document; it will decline unrelated requests.

Switching plans
Free → Pro and Pro → Teams happen through the billing portal (rolling out as part of Phase 4). Cancellation and downgrade work the same way; data isn’t deleted when you downgrade, but feature access reverts immediately to the new plan’s caps. If you’re over a cap after a downgrade, you lose write access to the over-cap resource (it stays read-only) until you’re back under.
How quotas reset
Monthly quotas reset on the first day of the calendar month UTC. Storage caps don’t reset, they’re total, not monthly. Document counts on Free are total, not monthly.
